Ingredients

• 3 Cups white sugar
• 1/2 Cup light corn syrup
• 2/3 Cup water
• 2 egg whites
• 1/8 tsp salt (optional)
• 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 1 Cup nuts
• 1 Cup cherries, cut in pieces
• 1 tsp. confectioners sugar

Boil sugar, syrup and water to hard ball stage. Beat egg whites and salt till stiff. Pour syrup slowly into egg whites while beating at top speed. Beat until past glossy stage, or until peaks form, add vanilla and powdered sugar. Stir in cherries and nuts. Drop by tsp. onto waxed paper.
