Joining Tips

  • My favorite way to join the rows is to place the squares right sides together and work in back loops only, slip st. in center st of corner, ch 1, sc in same st as joining, *sc in ea st to center st of next corner. Take next two squares and sc in center st of corner, continue from * until you reach the end, fasten off and weave in ends. This method does leave a ridge on the back side of your work. Sometimes I like to frame my squares, and I reverse this so that the ridge is on the front side. Simply place your squares wrong sides together and continue as above.
  • I prefer to do the long rows (length) first. Then do the short (width) rows in the same manner. When you reach the joining st of the squares, work one sc on each side of the row of stitches, catching the unused corner st.
