The "Mac Box" …
Hello, this is the "Mac Box".
All the folds that make this box are not unique. Many have been seen before. "There is nothing new under the sun" – Eccl. 1:9. My contribution is mainly in the lid thus making it a closed box, ideal for gifts, surprises, the unexpected.
This page has lots of images (see slide show below) to help you fold this box and two Adobe PDF files that, taken together, should make folding this box a snap. I hope you have fun with it.
I have long enjoyed origami boxes, my favorite boxes tend to be designs by Tomoko Fuse. Her books can be found in many libraries and book stores. If you have an interest in folding boxes a quick search of the internet will provide you with lots of material.
As I said, the folding lid is my contribution to the "Mac Box" making it ideally suited for two sided paper. It is made from a square piece of paper, Most of my boxes have been made from pieces 8.5 inches or 8 inches square. The corners can be reenforced with a touch of glue, I leave that to your discretion (I'm not a glue person, but you might be). Take your time, go slow, I think you will find this little box has lots of uses.
